Marsheaux is a female electro pop duo from
Thessaloniki, Greece. The band is comprised of Marianthi and Sophie both of
whom play keyboards and share the vocal duties. The name Marsheaux is derived
from the first syllable of each band members name. As well as being
vocalists, both musicians are skilled multi-instrumentalists. Marianthi plays
microKORG, Minimoog, Roland SH101 and Yamaha CS01. Sophie plays microKORG, Korg
MS-10, Roland alpha-Juno2, Akai AX80, and Roland CR-78.
2004: Ebay Queen "Our introduction to Marsheaux begins with a self-titled signature tune M.A.R.S.H.E.A.U.X and is full of wonderful electronic sounds which are straight out of the Vince Clarke School Of Synthesizers!. The second track Flash Light leads us straight into synthpop bliss with it's catchy chorus and more excellent electronic sounds. Shake Me reminds me a bit of Kraftwerk in its musical presentation. Fantastic pad sounds and great vocals - The best track so far. I thought Shake Me was brilliant but the 4th track is a magnificent cover version of The Lightning Seeds track Pure. Play Boy highlights some wonderful vocals from the girls. I love the dark sounds of the synths on this one - Again very much influenced by Sir Vincent Clarke! (...) Track 10 is song in Greek. Track 11 sees another cover version. This time the girls cover Pop Corn (of Gershon Kingsley) and is a track beautifully suited to their sound. It is given a very good modern makeover."

2007: Peekaboo Contains two covers, Regret by New Order and The Promise by When In Rome. All vocals are in English. ½ 2009: Lumineux Noir Tracklisting: 1.Exit 2.Breakthrough 3.Summer 4.Stand By 5.Radial Emotion 6.Loss Of Heaven 7.Destroy Me 8.Faith 9.Ghost 10.It's Fine Now 11.Thousand LEDs 12.So Far 13.Sorrow "All the potential that was showcased on the first two albums 'E-Bay Queen' and 'Peek A-Boo' has now been fully realised. There are no covers this time, such was the determination of Marianthi and Sophie to make this the artistic statement from their electro heart. But as the album title suggests, in amongst the night there's something a bit brighter lurking too. With their contrasting vocal stylings; Marianthi: soft and sweet, Sophie: more alto and icy; they compliment each other in a similar fashion to Helen and Mira in Ladytron or Claudia Brucken and Suzanne Freytag when they fronted Propaganda. (...) With a cinematic start in Exit, there are no bright lights but it builds. It's also a statement of intent as MARSHEAUX launch a darker approach to proceedings recalling how Depeche Mode opened their first black day with a 'Black Celebration'. Breakthrough the very first Marsheaux CD single on Out Of Line Records, Breakthrough borrows Ladytron's electro-rock template with a thundering four-to-the-floor beat and sprinkling of synthesised sweeps. (...) This album is technically very accomplished and has a dynamically Krafted sound, thanks to George Geranios and Nick Bitzenis of FOTONOVELA at the production helm.
